Obituary of Jaroslaw Wroblewski
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Jaroslaw “Joshua” Wroblewski on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the age of 67.
Joshua was the beloved husband of Sarah (née Mathieson) Wroblewski and the cherished brother of Janina (John) Watson. Joshua and Janina shared an exceptionally close bond throughout their lives, being only 14 months apart in age. Their relationship was one of lifelong friendship, love, and unwavering support.
Joshua loved spending time with his grandchildren no matter what they were doing. Joshua was a very giving, generous, loving grandpa in many ways. He loved being called grandpa and took great pride in that. He shared a particularly special and inseparable bond with his grandson, Eli, creating treasured memories that will be forever cherished.
Throughout his life, Joshua was known as a hardworking and dedicated man. For 34 years, he worked at a men's shelter, a demanding role that reflected his compassion and commitment to helping others. He was deeply respected by his colleagues and admired for his strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to serve those in need. His dedication to his work touched many lives and left a lasting impact on the community he served.
Joshua was proud of his Polish and Ukrainian heritage and carried a deep appreciation for his family roots and traditions. He enjoyed sharing stories, values, and customs that connected him to his ancestry and helped shape the man he became.
Outside of work, Joshua had a passion for sports and recreation. He enjoyed bowling, golf, hockey, and frisbee, activities that brought him great joy and opportunities to spend time with family and friends. Whether cheering on a hockey game, enjoying a day on the golf course, or participating in friendly competition, he embraced life with enthusiasm and a positive spirit.
Above all else, Joshua's faith was the foundation of his life. He had a deep and personal relationship with Jesus Christ and loved him with all his heart, mind, and soul. Joshua regularly turned to God for guidance, strength, and comfort through prayer. His faith sustained him through life's challenges and gave him peace in knowing that one day he would be welcomed home into God's presence. Those who knew him witnessed the sincerity of his faith and the kindness, humility, and compassion that flowed from it.
Joshua will be lovingly remembered for his devotion to his family, his tireless work ethic, his strong faith, and his caring heart. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on in the lives he touched and in the memories that his family and friends will forever hold dear.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTER, 827 East Main St., Welland, ON. Visitation will be held at the Christ Community Church, 224 Division St., Welland, ON on Saturday June 20 from 10:00-10:30 a.m. A funeral service will begin at 10:30, following burial at Doan’s Ridge Cemetery.
