Obituary of Chad Doucet
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Chad Doucet on January 20, 2024, at the age of 37. Chad left us too soon, succumbing to an unforeseen medical issue while engaging in one of his favourite pastimes, playing hockey.
Chad was the beloved spouse and best friend of Lindsay Medd, and the loving Dad of Carter and Ryder. Cherished son of Dorothy (Tony) & Mike (Teresa). Dear brother of Amber (Matt) and brother-in-law of Sabrina Tilden. Chad will be deeply missed by his nephew and nieces; Liam, Harper, and Amaya. Memories of Chad will be held onto by the expansive circle of friends he considered family. He was predeceased by his 4 grandparents.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Chad found joy in playing various sports. He was an active member of the Misfits baseball team, participated in volleyball, and especially loved the game of hockey. Chad dedicated his time as a coach for the Welland Minor Hockey Association U15 & U7 IP Divisions, leaving a lasting impact on those he mentored.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the “guys” from his Friday Night Hockey Team for their valiant efforts to assist Chad in his time of need.
The family of Chad Doucet invites relatives and friends to join them at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main Street, Welland, on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. As an expression of sympathy donations made to the GoFundMe fundraiser for the family would be appreciated by the Doucet’s.
