Obituary of Armand Gregoire
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Armand Gregoire on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the age of 81 at the Welland General Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Helen (née Martineau). Cherished father of Allain (Carole) and Danielle Howley (Jason). Dear brother of Flo (Gerry). Armand will forever remain in the hearts of his grandchildren, Joshua, Ryan, Jack and Megan, who brought him immeasurable joy throughout his life. Predeceased by his parents Francoise (née Charland) and Arthur.
Armand was born and raised in Welland Ontario. As a youngster, he could be found swimming with friends in the Welland Canal trying to catch the ships passing by. He graduated from Notre Dame High school and this is where he met the love of his life Helen and enjoyed forty-nine years of marriage together. He worked and retired after forty-two years from Atlas Steel. He loved playing and watching sports. In particular basketball where he played into his 60’s and golf where he would play daily in retirement. His commitment and skill enabled him to get two hole in one’s in one summer. Armand was a fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and LA Lakers and we know he will be rejoicing in any future glory that comes their way.
Armand will be remembered for the phenomenal pride he held for his family and always put his family first. He was also kind and generous and could always be counted on to lend a hand whether it was cutting lawns or shoveling driveways for those who needed assistance in the neighbourhood.
We are forever thankful for the time we had with him and trust he is at peace with his beloved wife Helen. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE. In accordance with Armand’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held April 27, 2024, for details please contact a family member.
