Obituary of Harold Owens
It is with deep sadness that the family of Harold “Hally” Owens announce his sudden and tragic passing on March 25, 2024.
Hally was predeceased by his; parents Harold Owens Sr. and Muriel Misener, brother Jim Lambert (Marg) and nephew Clifford Lambert. He was married for 45 years to the late Céline (Lamarche) Owens.
He is survived by his sons Sean and Steven Owens. Grampa to much-loved Grand-dog Ziggy. Sadly missed by his brother Bill (Judi) Misener, and nieces & nephews Bill (Pamela) Misener, Scott (Laurie) Lambert, Erin (Beto) Misener, Meaghan Misener, Lisa (Scott) Weingust and Laura Lambert.
Hally was born in St. Catharines and worked his entire 41-year career as a mechanic for the city. Many knew him from dog walks in the park and viewed him as an impactful member of his community. When he wasn’t at work, he could be found fishing or hunting. If he wasn’t doing one of those two activities, he was trap shooting or enjoying a sports game. He was a huge fan of the Leafs and the Jays. Summer weeks spent at his fishing camp in Kipawa, Québec, were high on his list. He especially loved to host his friends and family at the Kipawa camp.
Following Hally’s wishes cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life may be held at a later date.
In honour of Hally’s love for dogs, donations can be made to the Humane Society or to the Mental Health Association.
