Obituary of Robert Keith Irvine

Robert Keith Irvine, known to his friends and family as Keith, passed away in his Welland home on April 2, 2024, at the age of 81. Keith grew up in Pembroke, Ontario and enjoyed many summers working and playing on his aunt and uncle’s farm. Keith appreciated being around animals, especially his beloved cat Harley, with whom he shared a special bond. Keith was dedicated to his work in the printing industry, where he was named plant manager later in his career. Everyone who met Keith loved him, and his co-workers were saddened when he eventually retired from the job at which he excelled. Keith often played country music, either from the radio or by sitting at the keyboard creating his own tunes. He joined others in musical nights throughout his life, both from restaurant stages and in gatherings for his friends.

Keith and his wife Barbara were married for 63 years. Anyone who saw the couple together, knew that they were inseparable. Keith is survived by his wife Barbara (née Healey) and his firstborn son John. He will be sadly missed by his 3 granddaughters; Angel, Sarah, Lyndsey & 3 great-grandchildren; Noah, Grace, and Gabriel. Dear brother to Ann, Brian, and Jim. Keith was preceded in death by his second-born son Glen, mother Agnes, and father Russell.

Keith loved his family and always gave big, tight hugs. He was proud of all of their accomplishments and wanted them all to live happy lives. Keith often reminded his family, “Remember me as I was, young and handsome”. Keith is always in our hearts, as he watches from Heaven above.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE. Keeping with Keith’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life has taken place. As expression of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Diabetes Canada would be appreciated by the family.
