Obituary of Alan Edward Campbell
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Alan Campbell on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the age of 73, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital. Very short was their time apart, he is now reunited with his beloved wife Rita who passed away in 2023. Survived by his children, Adam (Drew) Campbell and Ashley (Justin) Bolduc. Loving Grandpa to Tristan, Audrey, Benjamin and Adelyn. Beloved brother to Beth (Harold) Large and Marvin Campbell and brother in-law to Onilda (Guy) Marleau, Edwina Valcourt, Dianne (Line Morin) Valcourt, Adrien Valcourt, Claudette (the late Peter) DeKoning, Lucien Valcourt and Carmen (Jacques) Forget. Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Velda (the late Rick) Smith, and parents Alexander and Velma Campbell.
Despite the difficulty of being away from his family, Alan truly loved the open road and spent nearly 50 years as a long-haul truck driver. His kids eagerly awaited his returns, and a new tale of adventure. He traveled largely along the US Eastern seaboard throughout his career and was very happy to squeeze in a few last runs to Florida before his retirement in 2019. Keep on truckin’, Dad.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main St, Welland, ON. As per Alan’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family burial will occur at a later date.
