Obituary DEMERS, Edith Marie (Bisson) It is with great sadness that the family of Edith Demers announces her peaceful passing at her home on January 11, 2019 at the age of 90, surrounded by family. Loving wife of the late Lucien Demers (2013) for 64 years. Cherished mother of Lise (Gaston) Lapointe, René (Marilyn) Demers, Lucy (Sid) Stayzer, Rick (Dorothy) Demers, Ron Demers, and Lorraine (George) Hager. Edith will be dearly missed by her loving grandchildren; Catherine (Brian) Jackson, Allan (Robyn) Stayzer, Michelle (Adam) Knowles, Ashley (Lewis) Reda, Amanda (Chris) Ashford, Marc (Kathia) Lapointe, Karen (Rick ) Majury, Tyler Demers, Kaylee (Kyle) McIntosh, Richelle, Zachary and Mitchell Demers. She will also be missed by her great-grandchildren; Jason, Michaela, Cole, Jack, Carrington, Reese, Amiera, Layla, Lucien and Chloe. Dear sister of Lucie (late Bob) MacDonald, and in laws; Nicole Bisson, Raymond (Laura) Demers, and Annette (late Adélard) Demers. She was pre-deceased by her parents Antoine and Rose Bisson, as well as her siblings Madeleine Soucie, Bridget (late Fred) Mills, Bruno (Nicole) Bisson, Monique (Steve) Siba, Roland (late Gabrielle) Bisson, and in-laws Bob and Betty Demers. Edith’s earthly treasures were her faith and her family. She loved doting on every new generation. She lived life to the fullest – gardening, golfing, travelling and toasting all her blessings at family reunions with a little pinot noir. “Well done you good and faithful servant.” Heartfelt thanks to the compassionate people from St. Elizabeth and VON and to all the staff at the Walker Family Cancer Centre. The family will be receiving relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME , 827 East Main St, Welland on Tuesday, January 15 from 2-4 and 6-8pm and service will take place on Wednesday, at 11am in Église Sacré Coeur. Cremation will follow. Interment of ashes to take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to The Terry Fox Foundation will be greatly appreciated by the family.
