DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO ALL OF YOU MARCE MARCEL(JR) DAVID AND MARC AND ALL OF YOUR FAMILIES AT THIS TIME OF LOSS. IRENE WAS VERY SPECIAL TO ME (AND ALL OF YOU, TOO) WORDS FAIL ME (I KNOW NOT THE USUAL). I would like to say a few words about a special woman. A wife, mother, grandmother, and a godmother. In particular, for me today, it is to speak of an amazing godmother. One that only few can say that they were blessed to have such a loving, caring, and thoughtful Godmother. I was one of those lucky persons. Ma Tante Irene has played such a big part in my life since I was a young child. you see, her sister, my mother, had severe arthritis since the age of 35. My godmother was always there for me to lend an ear, give me support, and just hold my hand or hold me in her arms. Growing up as a young child with a sick parent was not easy. however, I could always count on her to be there for me when I needed her. Growing up, I witnessed seeing a woman who was so wonderful and supportive to her sisters. She showed me how to love unconditionally. The bond she had with her sisters was so special. She was the one I confided in when I questioned my sexsuality at the age of 16. She was the one I saw growing up being there for her sisters, especially for my mother near the end of her years. My godmother was always there even when I moved to Ottawa to start my adult life at the age of 19. Mon Oncle Marcel and her came to Ottawa when I bought my first house to help in the renovation of my house. Ma tante brought her sewing machine and made all my curtains, cooked me amazing meals. She has been there every step of the way. When my mom passed, she stepped up and offered so much support and guidance when I needed it. I have so many great memories of their yearly visits to Denise and I's cottage. Mon oncle would step up again and do any repairs, etc, while Ma tante cooked again, wonderful meals. Everything from chinese food to her wonderful eye of round roast, all my favorites. Words can not express the gratitude I feel to have been blessed to have had such an amazing godmother. She was a true example of what every godmother should aim to be. I will miss her dearly, her weekly video and phone calls all the way from Ecuador. Words can not truly express the love she gave me. I know and believe in my heart and soul she has now joined her sisters and parents and will always be looking over me. Thank you, Ma tante, for all your love, support, and guidance throughout my life. We will all miss you. I love you.

Irene will be missed . It was always a pleasure seeing Irene when she came in for her hair appoints over the many years . Loved hearing her speak of her boys and their families the grandchildren all the stories of them growing up into adulthood . And of course her little Mindy . My you rest in peace .
