Obituary of Fernando Rodriguez

Obituary Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, Fernando Rodriguez passed away at his home on October 6, 2018 at the age of 69. Devoted husband of Marta (nee Ochoa) for 46 years. Loving father of Delmi, Rina (Jorge Hernandez) and Walter (Marina). Adored by his grandchildren; Daisy, Fernando and Sofia. Survived by many brothers and sisters. Fernando was born in El Salvador in the year 1949, and lived there until the age of 38. As a result of a civil war, he decided to immigrate to Canada along with his family in the year 1987. The greatest event in Fernando’s life was coming to know the Lord Jesus as his saviour in the year 1990, this event forever changed his life and his eternal destiny. His priorities in life also changed; his interests were on learning more about God by studying the bible and in reaching others with the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Many years of his life were spent working among the Spanish speaking people in the area and preaching about the Lord Jesus. He often said in prayer “The assembly is precious to God”, his life demonstrated that the assembly was precious to him as well. Fernando was a family man, he placed a high value on family and loved to spend time with his grandchildren and the rest of the family. Fernando leaves a void in the family, he will be greatly missed. Most importantly he leaves a spiritual legacy to his family and friends, a life lived for God. The family will be receiving their relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME 827 East Main Street, Welland on Tuesday, October 9th, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 10th, 2018 at the Welland Gospel Hall, 405 Lyons Creek Rd, Welland at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
