Obituary of Gérard Bégin
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear father in his 93rd year at the Port Colborne Hospital on Saturday, October 21st, 2017 surrounded by his devoted family. Cherished father of Rachelle Lamontagne (Bob) and Thérèse Jones (John). Dear brother of Annette Nadeau, Robert (Lucille), Gaston (Jacqueline), Marielle Brochu (Fernand). Sadly missed by his grandchildren Kelly Litwiller (Glen), Melanie Squires (Craig), Kevin Lamontagne, Joshua Begin, Jessica Begin and seven great grandchildren; Shelby, Riley, Brooke-Lynn, Connor, Cooper, Zoe and Jade and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Lucille (Charette), Lucile Viau, his son Danny Begin, son-in-law Roger Jones, his parents Charles and Emma, brothers Roland, Paul-Émile, Phillipe, Charles, Lionel and his sisters Marie-Anna Talbot, Alfreda Litalien and Marie-Paul Bouchard. He worked for Wabasso Cotton Mill for over 41 years. He was a war veteran, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 4, Chevaliers de Colomb Conseil 8296 and the Wellness Centre (Welland). He enjoyed golfing, playing euchre, shooting pool, dancing and curling.
In accordance with Gerry's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family invite relatives and friends to join them at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME 827 East Main St., Welland on Sunday, October 29th, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. for a celebration of his life. A private interment will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 4 would be appreciated by the family.
