Obituary of John Gingras
The family of John Gingras sadly announces his passing on Thursday, July 20, 2017, at the Port Colborne Hospital, at the age of 71. John shared his last years with his beloved partner of Lise Noyes. John was the loving brother of Ziggy (Irene), Jacques (Donna), Roger (Nancy) and Suzanne (Lyle Campbell). Great step-father to Cora Paquin and Derek Noyes. He will be sadly missed by his two grandchildren Hailey Labbé and Jared Peng, as well as his mother-in-law Yollande Labrie, his sisters-in-law of Murielle Szerlau (Bob), Joycelyne Labrie, Nickie Labrie, brothers-in-law Marcel Labrie (Michelle) and Denis Labrie. He will also be fondly missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Athanase (1990) and Florence (nee Laroche) (2012) Gingras and his brother Richard (1986), and father-in-law Jeau-Paul Labrie and sister-in-law Denise.
John retired from Welland Tubes after many years of service. He loved life. He loved to play ping pong on a daily basis, and enjoyed winning. He was a passionate body-builder since he was 13 years old. He spent hours at the gym 6 days a week for most of his life. He loved going for rides on his motorcycle, enjoyed sharing fun times on his boat with family and friends. In the past, he enjoyed playing tennis and learned to scuba dive. He spent a few months for several years in Mexico with his grandchildren. He remained positive and courageous and faced his illness with grace and dignity. John was the kindest, most caring, generous and giving person, always the first to offer a helping hand. Never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was always positive and cheerful. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
