Obituary
PETIT, Emilienne (Lecours)
It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Emilienne Petit on November 9, 2019 at the Foyer Richelieu at the age of 87.
Beloved wife and best friend of Fernand for 69 years. Cherished mother of Ginette Petit, Gaston Petit, Carolle Petit (Sandy Nuttall), Lise (Paul) Walker, Elaine (Rob) Coppens, and Normand (Linda) Petit. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren; Aaron, Dan, Paul, Matthew (Alexandria), Michelle, and her great-grandchildren; Samantha, Brayden and Megan. Loving sister of Julienne Green (late Roger Hamel and the late Robert Green), Gisèle (Marcel) Therrien, Guy Lecours, Jacques (Mabel) Lecours and Jean (Peggy) Lecours. Predeceased by her parents Aimé and Jeanne (née Soucy) Lecours, and her siblings; Robert (late Gertrude), Roland (Madeleine), Alexandre (Marguerite), Jean-Paul (late Cécile), Jeannine (late Maurice) Couture, Mariel (late Geneviève), Bertrand (late Rachel), Claude (Noreen), and Leonard (late Rachel).
Emilienne was born on September 05, 1932 in Saint-Léon-de-Standon, Québec. She was the eighth of fifteen siblings. At a young age, the family moved to Saint-Hélène-de-Mancebourg, Abitibi, Québec. On September 16, 1950, she married the love of her life Fernand Petit. They raised two sons and four daughters. Emilienne was a dedicated wife, mother, grand-mother and great-grandmother first and foremost. She treasured babies, children and enjoyed cooking/baking, music, dancing, stamp collecting, birds, gardening/flowers, camping, travelling, numerous arts and crafts and many other hobbies. Her hands were rarely still. She combined her diverse hobbies to create extraordinary art. Emilienne had a vivacious personality and loved to have fun with her many jokes and games. Aside from raising her family, Emilienne also managed to work at various jobs throughout her life; babysitting, canning factory, Jackie's Variety, C & M Restaurant and especially loved her role as a school lunch monitor. She was a longtime member and volunteered for 30 years at the french Club Social.
Emilienne was a devoted spouse and tireless mother to her family who strived to make their lives filled with love and happiness in every way she could. She will be sadly missed by everyone whose lives she touched in her own special way.
Special thanks to the staff of Foyer Richelieu for providing expert, loving and compassionate care to Emilienne during the last several years.
