Obituary of Claudette Asselin

With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Claudette (Lemay) Asselin at the age of 80, on Friday June 24th 2016, at her home with family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Roland Asselin. Cherished mother of Bob (Claire) Asselin, Diane (Kevin Fortier), Carole (Daniel Deschamps) and special mother-in-law of Karen Asselin. Special companion of Maurice Jarry. Dear sister of Jules Lemay (the late Marg), Jerry Lemay (Lois), Noel Lemay (Suzette), Paul Lemay (Micheline), Lucienne (André Gosselin), Yvette (the late Rosaire Gosselin), Clémence Kurcz, sister-in-law Anne Lemay and brothers-in-law René Beauparlant and Simon Bélanger. She will be lovingly remembered by her 8 grandchildren, Brent and Craig Asselin, Andrew and Trina Asselin, Raymond (Jodi) and Chantal Deschamps, Natalie and Kyle Fortier and one great grandson Milo Deschamps. Predeceased by her parents Hermenégilde and Marthe (Richard) Lemay, her son Andy Asselin, 3 sisters Juliette, Marguerite, Lina and 2 brothers Clement and George. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at the Walker Cancer Clinic, Dr. Dooler, her nurse Sue, CCAC, St. Elizabeth all of the PSW's and her nurses Linda and Meghan, Tracy and a special thank you to "My Beautiful Nurse Suzette" An extended thank you to all the families for helping us out. Thank you Moe for making Mom happy. Funeral Details In keeping with Claudette's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, 827 East Main Street Welland on Thursday, June 30th, 2016 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. then proceeding to Église du Sacré Coeur for the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
