Obituary of Jean-Guy Blanchette

Obituary BLANCHETTE - Jean-Guy April 7, 1941 to September 26, 2019 Peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on September 26, 2019 at the age of 78, Jean- Guy left this world to be reunited with his beloved wife Pansy. By his side was his loving children, Margaret (Mike) Ventresca, John (Kelly) Blanchette, Lorraine (Tim) Robinson, Raymond (Carolyn) Blanchette, Suzanne (Joe) Belcastro, and David Blanchette. Cherished Grandfather of Julia, Duane, Athena, Victoria, Vanessa, Chase, Thomas, Brittany, Melissa, Braeden, Sydney, Luke, Marcus, Dylan, Marina, Jasmine, Carter and Amelia. Apple of his eye his Great Grandchildren Michaela, Owen, Lillian, Grace, Brianna, Vincent, Ethan, Landen, Michael and Sawyer. Always by his side his loving companion Donna. He leaves behind his sister Monique (Ray) Landry, Brother Gaetan (Janet) Blanchette and many more family and friends. His beloved animals always by his side, his dog Brandy, Cassey and his cat Sandy. He is predeceased by his Grandson Zachary, and his parents Gédéon and Alice Blanchette, his brothers Roch and Marc Blanchette. Jean-Guy worked for many years at the Niagara Region as a Maintenance Engineer. Following his retirement, he continued to give back to his community by being a volunteer driver for Family and Children’s Services Niagara and the Cancer Society. It was great honour for Jean- Guy to be awarded Alan T. Fitzgerald from Family and Children’s Services Niagara. Very Special Thank You to Dr. Heather Whitworth, Dr. Taliano, Laurie and the many nurses and PSW ‘s and the palliative team in providing wonderful care, compassion, kindness and dedication to making it possible for Our Dad to fulfill his wish to remain at home. The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME 827 East Main Street, Welland on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at the Parish Community of St. Kevin 303 Niagara St., Welland at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
