Obituary of Jean Guy Fontaine

FONTAINE, Jean-Guy passed away suddenly at his residence on Sunday, January 10th, 2016 at the age of 75. Devoted husband of the late Yvonne (Daviau) Fontaine (January 19, 2015). Cherished father of Rachel (Rob) Novak, Gilles Fontaine (Suzanne), Ray Fontaine (Cindy Lamarche) and Claude Fontaine (Rachelle). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren; David, Trevor, Zack, Jonathan, Thomas, Leah and Daniella. Survived by his brother Gaby (Florianne) Fontaine and 2 sisters Laurette Fortin and Dolorès Fontaine. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Eva Fontaine, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Jean-Guy was a member of the Chevaliers de Colomb, Conseil Welland for many years. He was retired from Bell Canada and was an avid bowler. Funeral Details Cremation has taken place. The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, 827 East Main Street, Welland, Friday, January 15th, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Paroisse du Sacré Coeur, 72 Empire St., Welland on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations by cheque to the McMaster Children's Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Service Information
