Obituary of Gérard Lareau

Peacefully with his loving family at his side, Gérard Lareau passed away at his residence on October 13th, 2015 at the age of 93. Loving husband of Jacqueline (Fradette) Lareau. Devoted father of Diane (Gilbert Trudeau), Suzanne (Raymond Paillé) and Pauline Lareau. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren; Natalie Rainville, Joanne Bovine, Daniel Paillé, Shelby Cleary, Spencer Cleary, Emily Trudeau and Stela Trudeau and his great grandchildren; Alexandre, Noah, Maxime, Austin, Sophie, Cadence and Ethan. Predeceased by his parents Henri and Valerie Lareau, his brothers Jean-Louis and Gaston and his sister Annette. Gérard was born on August 22, 1922 in Coaticook, Québec. He moved to Welland at an early age where he remained a resident. He worked for Inco for over 26 years. Funeral Details In accordance with Gérard's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Welland Funeral Home 827 East Main St. Welland, on Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 11 a.m. until the funeral service in the chapel at 12 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation will be appreciated by the family.
