Obituary of Maxine Poitras

Obituary POITRAS - Maxine (nee Boland) 1943-2019 At the Extended Care of the Welland Hospital on September 18, 2019, Maxine Poitras passed away with her family by her side. Cherished mother of Michelle (Robert Szabo) and Cheryl Poitras. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren; Scotty Poitras, Nathaniel Szabo, Sheldon Poitras, Zachary Szabo and Adam Szabo. She will be missed by her former husband and lifelong friend Robert Poitras, best friend Diane Brochu and her siblings Gloria Demers (late Levis Demers), David Boland (Ada), Jeanie Tarajos (John "Bob"), Veronica Boland (partner Margo) and Randy Boland. Predeceased by her parents David and Cecilia Boland (née Bengert) and her granddaughter Jennifer Poitras. Maxine will be remembered for her genuine love for others and work life at; Majestic Resturant, Miss Vogue Shoe Store and Atlas Steels. Maxine loved socializing with others and enjoyed a good game of euchre or poker. She had a love of music, dancing, the Toronto Blue Jays. She was happiest surrounded by her family and friends. She is also well known for being an excellent cook. The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME 827 East Main St., Welland on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 12 to 2 p.m. with a service to follow at 2p.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
