Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Rachel Tanguay on December 13, 2019 at the age of 97. She was predeceased by her husband Gerard (1983) and son Jacques (2010).
Rachel is survived by her children Yvan (Odette), Marc (Lise), Jocelyne Molnar (Don), Micheline/Mimi Robbins (Barry) and daughter in law Lyn Tanguay. Cherished grand-maman of Gabrielle, Jean-Charles, Francois, Jaclyn, Melanie, Dylan, Dallas, Bianca, Jared, Robyn, Kristy, Tyler and Spencer. She was also the loving sister of the late Jos (late Madeleine),Vivianne Hardy (late Roland), Roch (Helene), late Claude (late Ellen) late Soeur Solange, late Paul (late Madeleine), late Lionel (Dolores), Carmen Babin (late Roger), Marcel (Lucie), Helene, late Hector (Monique), Paquerette Edwards (Allan).
Rachel also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and special friend Tammy.
The family would like to extend their utmost gratitude to the loving and caring staff of Royal Rose Place. Thank you Dalhousie Unit staff and residents for creating such a family atmosphere.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday December 19, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. and also on Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at the Welland Funeral Home 827 East Main Street Welland. Funeral Service will be held on Friday December 20, 2019 at Eglise Sacre-Coeur at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Rachel’s memory may be made to Hospice Niagara or Breakfast program at Saint-Francois d’Assise both of which she highly valued.
C’est avec beaucoup de tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de Rachel qui a eut lieu le 13 décembre 2019 à l’âge de 97 ans. Elle était l’épouse de feu Gérard (1983), la fille ainée de feu Fortunat et de feue Marie Anne Beauparlant, la maman extraordinaire d’Yvan (Odette et petits-enfants Gabrielle, Jean-Charles, François), de feu Jacques (2010) (Lyn et petits-enfants Jaclyn, Mélanie), de Marc (Lise et petits-enfants Dylan, Dallas), de Jocelyne (Don Molnar et petits-enfants Bianca, Jared, Robyn) et de Micheline (Barry Robbins et petits-enfants Kristy, Tyler, Spencer). Rachel était la sœur de feus Jos (Madeleine), Claude (Ellen), Paul (Madeleine), Lionel, Hector et Sœur Solange. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses sœurs Vivianne Hardy (feu Roland), Carmen Babin (feu Roger), Hélène, Pâquerette et Allan Edwards ainsi que ses frères Roch (Hélène) et Marcel (Lucie), ses belles-sœurs Monique et Dolores et plusieurs neveux et nièces et amie spéciale Tammy.
La famille désire exprimer sa vive reconnaissance au personnel de la Maison d’accueil Royal Rose pour les soins hors pair et la sollicitude prodigués à notre chère Maman.
La famille accueillera parents et amis au Salon Funéraire Welland, 827, rue East Main, jeudi le 19 décembre de 14h00. à 16h00 et de 18h00 à 21h00 ainsi que vendredi le 20 décembre de 9h30 à 10h30. Le service funéraire aura lieu vendredi à 11h00 à l’église du Sacré-Cœur, 72 rue Empire. Comme substitution à des fleurs, un don, à la mémoire de Rachel, à l’Hospice Niagara ou au programme de Déjeuner à Saint François d’Assise, serait apprécié.
