Obituary of Hilario Garand

Obituary It is with saddened hearts that we the family of Larry Garand announce his passing on December 11th 2020 at his residence with his family by his side at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Yvette (Picard) Garand (April 2020). Cherished father of Grégoire (Marie-Anne Roy), Ronald (Arlène), Jacques (Carole Mercier), Jocelyne Guglielmo (Dana) and François (Kimberly Hendsbee). Larry will be sadly missed by his 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Dear brother of Lorraine Labrie and Gisele (John) Malagutti, and brother-in-law to Joan Garand. Predeceased by his parents Desiré and Délia Garand, brothers Rodolphe and Jean-Marie, sisters Lauréanne, Yolland and Doris. Larry was born in Woburn, Quebec and moved to Welland as a young boy. He was a thinker and doer who self taught himself to do anything and everything including studying drafting that lead to a career in structural steel detailing. Our dad was a very spiritual and talented man, gentle, devoted and generous towards his family, friends and church. He was a perfectionist in every aspect of his life and a great role model to all of us. Our family would like to thank his nurse Nora and all of those who were involved in his palliative care. A special thank you to Père Julien Beaulieu for his many visits, comforting words and friendship during this difficult time. Cremation has taken place.
