Obituary of Allan Hicks
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Allan Douglas Hicks in his 76th year on Monday, May 10th. He entered into the presence of His Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ after a brief stay in hospital at the Niagara Health Centre. His name is written down in the Lamb’s Book Of Life for all of eternity. Allan fought a courageous battle with COPD. He is survived by his loving wife Pauline (nee Poulin) of 41 years. He is the cherished brother of his sister Carrol Hicks and her partner Barbara Schumacher. Allan is pre-deceased by his parents Douglas and Kathryn Hicks (nee Speilman), his father-in-law Emile and mother-in-law Cecile Poulin (nee Lalonde) and brother-in-law Paul Poulin.
Allan retired in 2002 from General Motors in St. Catharines after 37 years of service. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fun times with his fishing buddies. He was a big sports fan and loved all of his favourite Toronto based sport franchises; Maple Leafs, Blue Jays and Raptors. Allan forged many long lasting friendships over the years including his Pastors Mark and Lucie Kaulback of Wings Of Fire Ministries in Hamilton. Pauline would like to thank the staff at Niagara Health Centre for all of their care and support in Allan’s final days.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to WELLAND FUNERAL HOME. Cremation has already taken place and a Celebration Of Life Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made at Canadian Lung Association.
