Obituary of Leon Antonio Doucet
At his residence, Foyer Richelieu on July 26th, 2021, Leon (Duke) Doucet passed away at the age of 88.
Beloved husband of the late Jaqueline Doucet (nee Latulippe). Loving father of Richard Doucet (Shelley), Rachelle Cook (Les) and Linda Doucet (Denise). Cherished grandfather of Jacqueline Cook, the late Jessica Cook and Julia & Erika Doucet. Duke was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Marie and by his 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
He was a former member of Le Club Richelieu. Duke also was very active with the Club Champlain where he coached many teams. Later in his retirement he was passionate about woodworking and Racing Pigeons.
Duke had a great sense of humour and always enjoyed a good party. He taught his children the importance of a good work ethic. He will be dearly missed.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Welland Funeral Home 827 East Main Street on Friday from 9:30 am until 11am. A service for Duke will follow the visitation, at the funeral home. Please call the Welland Funeral Home 905 735 1883 to schedule your attendance for the 11am service. Those that attend are required to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines. Lining-up and cycling of guest will be managed by the funeral home staff both indoors and outdoors. Interment of cremains will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Fonds Foyer Richelieu would be appreciated by the Doucet Family.
