Obituary of William Harold Goodwin Clark
It is with profound sadness that we have to inform that $3 Bill has finished his stay with us. William Harold Goodwin Clark left us Tuesday August 3rd for his next big adventure. The man, the legend has left behind his forever love Lola and his children Larry (Carol) , John (Rebecca) and Laura (Butch d.2020) and baby Angela (d.1964). His legacy and pride and joy are his grandchildren Courtney, Kurtis, Ethan, Liam, Tucker, Carley (d.2000) and Teagan.
When Bill got diagnosed with Cancer he was asked by the doctor if he would rather have a long life or quality of life, his response was “I’ve had both”. No truer statement has ever been spoken. Bill and Lola (BnL, GnG) shared a most colourful and exciting life for the last 65 years. They flew on the Concord, sailed the QE2, rode camels, sailed to Tahiti, explored South America, Australia, Japan, South seas, all of Europe and North America. Twice a year you could find them in Mexico soaking up the sun or in Vegas at any casino in sight. Their favourite stop was Singapore. So many memories, so many stories, so much fun.
Bill was fearless. Moving his family across the country following his work as a plate maker in the newspaper world. Buying a resort in Northern Ontario knowing nothing about hospitality. Buying a nightclub in Welland (Aqua•Duck) again, with no experience. Fearless with the support of his partner Lola by his side. Bill ran marathons. He rode his bicycle through the Rocky Mountains when he was 60. Always ready for a party with a new shirt to show off. He loved dancing with his beautiful Lola (Sweet Caroline). His favourite song is Strokin’ by Clarence Carter. Bill and his infamous wit and sarcasm will be sadly missed by all that had the pleasure of meeting him.
We hope his video poker machine at the big casino in the sky is hitting the jackpot. He’s sitting there sipping on a Grand Marnier with his brother Jack, sister Donna, his parents Norma & Jimmy and Butch while Angela and Carley are nearby peacefully asleep. Gone but will never be forgotten. The legend lives on forever.
RIP Bill
