Obituary of Mary Louise Wencel

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Louise Wencel (née Stando) on October 30th, 2021, at the age of 81. Loving mother of (predeceased) Randy, Gary (Bobbi-Sue), Cindy (Bill), Ricky (Crystal), and Danny (Vanessa). Dear sister of Patrick (Denise), and Gino. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Greg & Layla, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and fondly remembered and loved by her aunts, nieces, and extended family.  A special thanks to her godchild Jody Lynn.

Louise grew up in Port Robinson and later resided in Welland.  She retired from Sunset Haven after 25 years of dedicated service. She loved to be with family and friends. She enjoyed music, singing, dancing, gardening, cooking and socializing. She will be remembered for her sense of humour, her infectious laugh, and how caring she was. A special thanks to the staff at the Extended Care Unit at the Welland General Hospital for the loving care of Mary Louise during her time with them. We will be forever grateful for all that you have done.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME 827 East Main St., Welland, Saturday, November 6, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Interment will take place at a later date.  Please click the R.S.V.P. link through our website to schedule your attendance. For those that do not have access to our website please call to reserve your attendance.  Those that attend are required to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines. Lining-up and cycling of guests will be managed by the funeral home staff both indoors and outdoors. As expression of sympathy donations to the Alzheimer Society of Niagara Region or Parkinson Canada would be appreciated by the family.
