Obituary of Carl Ferland
It is with the utmost sadness, the family of Carl Ferland announce his untimely passing on February 16, 2022, in his 79th year, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind his beloved wife Audrey of 56 years. Loving father and best friend to his son Michael (Janet). Cherished and loving father to his daughter Shelly Baines (Brian). Papa left behind his 3 hearts of hearts; his granddaughters Ashley and Alisha Ferland and his grandson Bronson Baines. Dear brother and friend to Ron (Margaret), Roger (Jane), David and Dennis (Cam). Carl was predeceased by his parents Leo & Helen Ferland as well as his father and mother in-law Adrian Sr. & Josephine Minor.
Carl was employed at the Ontario Paper Mill as a millwright for over 35 years, and enjoyed retirement since 2002. He was filled with love and courage. His family always came first. Always ready and willing to lend a helpful hand. He enjoyed life, always with a smile. Well known for his quick wit and humour. He was a “Carl” of all trades. A gifted man, he could create or fix anything he imagined. He was a natural born artist leaving behind many of his creations which will always be cherished.
Family wishes to thank every nurse and doctor in the ER and the 6th floor of Welland Hospital who provided excellent, compassionate care to Carl. Especially Jackie, for your kindness, dedication and healing touch in Carl’s final journey.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE. Keeping with Carl’s last wishes, cremation has taken place. In Carl’s memory, be kind to someone. Carl will be sorrowfully missed by all.
