Obituary of Danielle Margaret Gajdek

The family of Danielle Gajdek (née Laramee) is saddened to announce her death on Sunday, April 3, 2022, surrounded by family peacefully in her home, at the age of 65. Treasured mother and best friend of Stephanie (Lonny). She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, whom were her Pride and Joy; Christopher and Riley. Beloved sister of Noel (Yvonne), Ovila (Tony), Noella (Jacques), Francine (Jerry), Marlene (Fernando), Colette (Danny), Joanne (Gary) and Lorraine (late Mark).  Predeceased by her parents Marcel & Marie-Paul (née Chalifoux) and her siblings; Vern, Ralph, Gaby and Claudette.

Mom started her working life at Bradshaw & Stradwick, until moving on to the Rubber Plant. She then chose waitressing as her career path; taking on a position in management at the Empire Restaurant, as well as The Kingsley Tavern. She was also a flag girl working for Claude Poulin with Highway Clearing. She was proud to be a volunteer for many years with Help A Child Smile. A heartfelt thank you to the ladies of March of Dimes for all the compassion and care given to Mom over the years, as well as The Palliative team of St. Elizabeth (Nora and Linda).

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE. Keeping with Danielle’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive relatives and friends for a graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery on Monday, April 11, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Donations made to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
