Obituary of Lucienne Gingras

It is with heavy hearts the family of Lucienne Gingras (née Laroche) announce her passing. With loved ones by her side at the Foyer Richelieu, on September 14, 2022, at the age of 98, she joined her beloved husband Emile in Heaven. Cherished mother of Roger (the late Nancy) Gingras and Diane (David) Olver. She will be sadly missed her grandchildren; Gates (Chantal), Daniel (Amanda), Melissa (Micheal), Christopher (Emberley). Treasured great-grandmother of Tatyana, Faydra, Aiden, Hannah, Sophia, Kaliah, Declan & great-great-grandmother of Josiah. Predeceased by her parents Oscar and Eva Laroche as well as her siblings Joe, Alice, Oscar, Réal, Armand, Herve, Roland, Emile, Florence, and Gemma.

Lucienne could be found with a deck of cards in hand, whether it was playing a game of cribbage or Skip-Bo with her family and friends. She had a strong will and over came her fear of water by not only learning how to swim in her fifties but then going on to help others by teaching swimming lessons. She had a special place in her heart for children and made sure they knew they were loved.  

The family will receive family and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main Street, Welland, on Saturday October 29, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Donations made to the Fonds Foyer Richelieu would be appreciated by the family.
