Obituary of Délina Fillion

Fillion, Délina (Lina) Nee Chevalier

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Délina (Lina) Fillion (née Chevalier) on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Foyer Richelieu surrounded by her family at the age of 85. Cherished mother of Nicolle (Ray Woods). She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren; Annette Fillion-Robinet (Terrence) & great-grandchildren; Alexandre and Évangeline Fillion Robinet. Dear sister of Dora Mousseau (Chevalier). She will also be missed by the Woods Family Deanna (Dale) and Christopher, Kaia and Sandro. Predeceased by her first husband Lionel Nolet & her second husband Alexandre Fillion.  Parents Mélina and Jérémy Chevalier as well as her 13 siblings.

Mom was born a twin and was the baby of a large family. She had a real “Joie de Vivre” and made friends easily throughout the years. She loved camping, gardening, and enjoyed being the “Prankster” and “Joker” with family and friends. She often laughed at her own jokes and enjoyed music and her sweets.

We extend our thanks to Jennifer and the staff at Foyer Richelieu Welland for their compassionate care they had given mom during her stay.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE. Keeping with Mom’s wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive family and friends on Friday, September 30, at 1:30 until service time at 2:30. As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Délina to Fonds Foyer Richelieu would be appreciated by the family.
