Obituary of Cyprien Brisson
Brisson, Cyprien 1927 – 2022
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great grandfather Cyprien Brisson on December 12, 2022 at the age of 95. Beloved husband of the late Thérèse Brisson. Loving and proud father of Linda (late Claude) Tisi, Suzanne ( Brian) Hollingsworth, Lise Brisson and Alain (Kim) Brisson. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Melody (Joe), Scarlet (Jack), Jeremy ( Amanda), Derek (Shahna), Amy (Mike), Shane, Brandon (Shari), Tyler (Talisa), Brett (Hailey), Kayla, Shalyn (Alex). Proud great-grandfather of Ryan (Nicole), Amanda, Sarah (Dakota), Brandon, Alisha (Sky), Landon, Harrison, Alia, Ava, Aiden, Breanne, Alice, Mavis, Myer, Brynn, Ben, Nixon, Cooper and Karsen. He also leaves behind 6 great-great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by nieces and nephews and many friends. Predeceased by his parents Pierre Brisson & Fleur- Ange (née Groulx) brothers Pierre, Maurice and Rhéal and sisters Rhéa and Cyprienne. Survived by sister-in law Marguerite (Ron) Putman.
Cyprien will be fondly remembered by all for his friendly, outgoing personality and his deep love for music and entertaining people. No one who met him will forget his infectious passion for hunting and fishing up north with his family and friends, for playing the harmonica to perfection, for being an avid and skillful Euchre player. He was notorious for telling jokes and making people laugh. Everyone was amazed at his “bean” trick.
Cyprien took such pride and joy in providing for his family, always making sure they didn’t do without. His love for them was unconditional. His 35 years of hard work and devotion at Atlas Steels earned him an early retirement at the young age of 55. He loved travelling and visited many places and countries alongside his wife Thérèse and others. He easily made friends anywhere and everywhere he went. Cyprien thoroughly enjoyed dancing with Thérèse and was a member of “ Vive la Joie”, a French Folk Dance group for many years.
We will miss you Dad/ Pépère! But as we walk to the “Candy Store” we will hold fond memories of you taking us there when we came to visit you! We love you so very much- you will always be forever in our hearts, never to be forgotten. We are happy to know that you will be joining your one and only love again, (Mom/Mémère). Ensemble pour Toujours!
We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Rapelje Lodge for your loving care of Dad during his short time there. We will remember and cherish with deep respect and appreciation your kindness and generosity towards Dad.
