GERVAIS - Thérèse (Faucher)
Maman, grand-mère et arrière-grand-mère est décédées paisiblement le 25 décembre 2022 à l'hôpital général de Welland entourées de sa famille à l'âge de 90 ans. Elle était l'épouse bien-aimée de son amour et ami de longue date Hermas Gervais, de 69 ans. Mère chérie de Joanne Richer (Sylvain), Carole Atkinson (Randy) et Gérald Gervais. Grand-mère adorée de Shawn (Ann), Jamie, Amy (Blake), David (Anagh), Bradley (Shannon), Maranda, Mila, Luci et Ava. Arrière-grand-mère de Randi May, Sophie, Noah, Levi, Oliver, Priya et Bryson. Sœurs bien-aimées et meilleures amies de Cécile Biron et Françoise Aubin. Elle a été précédée par ses parents Maurice et Laurette Faucher et ses soeurs Jeannette, Aline et ses frères Alcide et Jean.
« Matante » Thérèse manquera beaucoup à plusieurs nièces et neveux. Nous sommes si fiers de vous avoir appelé maman et grand-mère. Tu étais une femme petite mais puissante, avec tant de style, de beauté et de charisme. On se souviendra de vous pour votre éthique de travail acharné, qui a été inculquée au sein de notre famille. Nous avons toujours compris la célèbre citation - "Derrière chaque homme qui réussit, il y a une femme forte, sage et travailleuse", car c'est ainsi que vous avez soutenu papa et que nous vivons toujours. Maman est décédée en ce jour de Noël venteux qui restera dans les mémoires comme le blizzard de 2022. Notre famille regardera en arrière et réfléchira à ce jour, comme le jour où nous avons perdu notre mère, et a exigé des héros pour nous faire sortir de nos maisons pour être par son côté. Maman / grand-mère a toujours rendu Noël très spécial pour nous tous, des dîners extravagants Surf & Turf aux cadeaux à abondances. Noël n'aurait pas été Noël sans maman. Nous pensons qu'elle a choisi d'aller au paradis ce jour-là, alors nous regarderions en arrière et nous nous souviendrions de tous les bons moments que nous avons passés avec elle pendant les vacances. Même si Noël avec toi au paradis ne sera plus jamais pareil, tu seras toujours dans nos cœurs, maman. Jusqu'à ce que nous nous revoyions, nous vous aimons tous beaucoup.
Selon les souhaits de maman, la crémation a eu lieu. Famille et amis sont invités à se joindre à nous pour une visite le mercredi 11 janvier 2023, de 14 h 00 à 16 h 00. et 18h00-20h00 au SALON FUNÉRAIRE WELLAND, CENTRE DE CRÉMATION ET DE RÉCEPTION, 827, rue Main Est, Welland. Un service religieux aura lieu le jeudi 12 janvier à 11h00. Un merci spécial aux infirmières de l'étage de télémétrie de l'hôpital Welland pour leur compassion et leurs soins envers notre mère pendant cette période difficile. En guise d'expression de sympathie au lieu de fleurs, la famille apprécierait des dons à la Fondation des maladies du cœur, à la Société de l'arthrite ou à un organisme de bienfaisance de son choix.

Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma passed away peacefully on December 25, 2022, at the Welland General Hospital surrounded by her family at the age of 90. She was the loving wife of her long-time love and friend Hermas Gervais, of 69 years. Cherished mother of Joanne Richer (Sylvain), Carole Atkinson (Randy), and Gerald Gervais. Adored Grandmother of Shawn (Ann), Jamie, Amy (Blake), David (Anagh), Bradley (Shannon), Maranda, Mila, Luci and Ava. Great-Grandmother of Randi May, Sophie, Noah, Levi, Oliver, Priya and Bryson. Loving sisters and best friends of Cécile Biron and Francoise Aubin. She was predeceased by her parents Maurice and Laurette Faucher and her sisters Jeannette, Aline, and brothers Alcide, and Jean.
“Matante” Thérèse will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. We are so proud to have called you Mom and Grandma. You were a small, yet mighty woman, with such style, beauty, and charisma. You will be remembered for your hard work ethics, that were instilled within our family. We always understood the famous quote - “Behind every successful man, there is a strong, wise, and hardworking woman” as that is how you supported Dad and is what we still live by. Mom passed away on this blustery Christmas day that will be remembered as the Blizzard of 2022. Our family will look back and reflect on this day, as the day we lost our mom, and required heroes to get us out of our homes to be by her side. Mom/Grandma always made Christmas extra special for all of us, from the extravagant Surf & Turf dinners to the gifts galore. Christmas wouldn’t have been Christmas without Mom. We think she chose to go to heaven on this day, so we would look back and remember all the great times we had with her during the holidays. Even though Christmas with you in heaven will never be the same, you will always be in our hearts, Mom. Until we meet again, we all love you very much.
As per mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to join us for visitation on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main Street, Welland. A chapel service will be held on Thursday, January 12, at 11:00am. A special thank you to the nurses on the Telemetry floor at the Welland Hospital for their compassion and care to our mother during this difficult time. As an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Heart & Stroke foundation, Arthritis Society, or a charity of choice.
