It is with heartfelt sadness we announce that after a brief battle with cancer, Mary passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 27, 2023. God gained another angel to watch over us. Mary is survived by her loving partner of 40 years, Judy Carrigan. Beloved mother of Robert “Bobby” Alkerton (Tara). She will always be in the hearts of her five beautiful grandchildren whom she cherished deeply; Emily, Corey (Emma), Seth, Mya and Paisley Alkerton. Treasured sister of Pam (Mike), Shelley (Steve), Joyce, Robert (Carol), Jake, Tom and Mick. Mary will be missed by her sisters-in-law Jenny Carrigan and Sue Marczi, as well as her brother-in-law Mike Miller. Forever loved and remembered by many nieces, nephews, and very special friends; Norm & Lynn Paquin, Lori Muise & Matt Taylor. She will be dearly missed by her “furbaby” Buddy. Predeceased by her parents Robert Ralph and Joan Alkerton, in-laws Charlie and Mary Carrigan, brother Dan, nephew Steven, niece Carrie, sister-in-law Darlene and brother-in-law Chuck.
WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE have had the honour of caring for Mary and her family. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be planned for a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the SPCA in honor and memory of Mary.
