Il y a quelques semaines, lorsque j'étais à Welland, j'ai eu le plaisir de visiter mes tantes et oncles, dont deux très belles visites avec mon oncle Réjean et ma tante Brigitte.
De nombreuses histoires ont été racontées et beaucoup de rires ont été partagés.
Merci beaucoup pour ce cadeau Brigitte, et Réjean, pour les souvenirs que j'ai maintenant de ces histoires, des sourires et des rires.
Je ne savais pas qu'à un moment mon oncle a sauté dans sa Thunderbird, un V-8 gourmand en essence probablement, mais quand même, une Thunderbird, et a pris la route, à la Jack Kerouac, vers la Californie et Las Vegas.
Je ne sais pas, mais je suis à peu près sûr que ce fut un voyage rempli d'aventures et de beaucoup de rires aussi.
Alors que je suis sur le point de partir pour mon propre road trip, il est bon de savoir que je serai accompagné par le souvenir de ses sourires et le son de son rire, qu'il date d'il y a des années alors que "oncle Reg" aidait à laver la vaisselle au chalet de mes parents, ou il y a à peine quelques semaines, avec ma tante Brigittte à ses côtés, dans le confort de leur foyer.

A few weeks ago when I was in Welland I was very lucky to have the pleasure to visit my aunts and uncles, including two wonderful visits with my uncle Réjean and my aunt Brigitte.
Many stories were told and much, much laughter was shared.
Thank you so much for that gift Brigitte, and Réjean, for the memories I now have of those stories and of the smiles and laughter.
I did not know that at one time my uncle hopped into his Thunderbird, a gas guzzling V-8 probably, but still, a Thunderbird, and hit the open road, à la Jack Kerouac, to California and Las Vegas.
I do not know, but I’m pretty sure that it was a journey filled with adventure and lots of laughs too.
As I’m about to head out on a road trip of my own, it’s nice to know I’ll be accompanied by the memory of his smiles and the sound of his laughter, whether from years ago while “uncle Reg” was helping wash dishes at my parent’s cottage, or just weeks ago with my aunt Brigittte at his side, in the comfort of their home.
