Obituary LABONTÉ, Cécile (née Huard) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom on March 4, 2019. Cécile Labonté of Welland in her 89th year was predeceased by our Dad, Alfred, in 1999. Loving mother to Hélène (Peter) Miller, Diane (Gary) Puddester, Gilles (Annette), Jacqueline (Ted) Arsovsky, André and Monique (Robert) Sabourin. Proud Grandmother of 10 to Leah, Geoffrey (Lauren), Kimberly, Genèvre, Erik, Shelby, Nicole, Seth, Brooke, Shantel, and Great-Grandmother of 6 to Paige, Marshall, William, Brody, Lillian and Benjamin. Cécile is also survived by her remaining sister, Antoinette Turmel. Our Mom was born in Sacré Coeur de Marie, QC and moved to Welland in 1949 when she met "Freddy". As a stay-at-home Mom, she enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and working on the loom. After Dad retired, they moved to their cottage in Haliburton, where they remained for almost 2 decades. They loved making maple syrup to be shared with all of us. Later, Cécile enjoyed her time at Résidence Richelieu in Welland. The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, 827 East Main St. Welland, on Tuesday, March 12th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 13th at Église du Sacré-Coeur for requiem mass at 1 p.m, with cremation to follow. If desired, donations may be made by cheque to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Fonds Foyer Richelieu.
