Obituary of Frederick Robert Speight

With broken hearts we announce the passing of Frederick “Fred” Speight on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the age of 75. 

Loving husband of Donna (née Lundy) Speight.  Cherished father of Jodi Speight (Billy) and Jill Speight.  Dear brother of Barb Fournier (Gaston).  Son-in-law of Jean Lundy and the late William “Bill”.  Fred will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Aiden and Solymar.  He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Jean Speight, and his nephew Raymond Fournier.   

Fred was known for his passion for mechanics and his love for Drag Racing, Funny Cars and Pro Mods and Altered.  His dedication to his craft and his enthusiasm for the world of racing left a lasting impression and his legacy on those who knew him.   

The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 827 East Main Street, Welland on Friday, October 13, 2023, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society will be greatly appreciated by the family.
