Obituary of Guy Beauparlant
Guy Beauparlant (Guy Joseph Gaston Beauparlant) of Welland, Ontario, was 67 years old when he passed away suddenly in the evening of Tuesday, October 3, 2023. Guy leaves behind his partner Donna Golakovich, long-time friend and mother of his children, Sandra Paton, and his children Marc Beauparlant and Mélanie Drljevic (Novak Drljevic). He will be sadly missed by his four beloved grandchildren Pero, Adrijana, Ilija and Mikajla Drljevic, and his sister Lorraine Collins. Born in Ottawa, Ontario on February 11, 1956, Guy was quickly adopted by his late, loving parents Joseph Beauparlant and Madeleine Beauparlant (Sauvé) from Orphelinat Ste-Thérèse in Hull, Québec on April 12, 1956. Guy grew up in Welland, Ontario surrounded by an immense and loving family of many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Guy attended École Secondaire Confédération and later moved to Ottawa for several years. Guy’s undeniable charm and charisma led him through his career as a medical device consultant, taking him around the world. Everywhere he went he made new friends, often finding himself bumping into old friends, and somehow managing to remember something about everyone. Guy planted his roots for many years in Streetsville, Ontario before settling in Burlington, Ontario where he spent his final days with his beloved partner Donna. He adored his time in Burlington, spending his days walking along the lakeshore, attending festivals, having dinner with friends and spending time with his children and grandchildren at every opportunity. An avid music lover, Guy volunteered for several years with the Southside Shuffle where he was truly in his element – thriving by taking in the music around him and connecting with the artists every chance he could. Guy’s passing is surely being felt by many, but his enthusiasm for life can live on through all those that knew him.
We invite all who knew and loved Guy to come celebrate his life on Friday, October 20, between 2pm-4pm and 6pm – 8pm at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE located at 827 East Main Street in Welland, Ontario. A chapel service will be held the following morning on Saturday, October 21, at 11am for those who would like to attend. If you would like to make a donation on behalf of Guy Beauparlant, it would be his wish to have them directed to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Although speaking for Guy, we are sure he would be delighted to know that you are taking time thinking of happy memories, funny stories and sharing them with your loved ones. If someone asks you what time it is, don’t forget to remind them that it is the best time of their life.
