Obituary of Marie Claire Paré
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother, Marie Claire Paré (née Beaulieu).
She was born in Welland on February 5, 1927, and passed away quietly in her sleep at the Foyer Richelieu on November 3, 2023 at the age of 96. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Cécile (late Claude Blanchet) and her son, Roly Pare (Carole Grant Paré). Forever in the hearts of her five grandchildren, Claude Blanchet Jr. (Louise), Conrad Blanchet, Lisa Paré Walsh (Grant), Leanne Paré Bannock (Jeremy) and Chris Paré and her seven great grandchildren, Christina, Chelsey, Justin, Lily, Austin, Fynlee and Bodhi as well as her six great-great grandchildren. Survived by four sister in laws Katy and Lise Beaulieu, Aline and Adrienne Paré and brother in law Benoit Paré, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her late husband Roland Paré, her parents George and Lucia Beaulieu ( née Lapierre), her sister Margerite (Victor Paquin) and her brothers Réal, René (Rita) and Robert Beaulieu.
Mom lived her whole life in Welland. She worked for Wabasso Cotton Mill starting part time when she was thirteen years old and retired at the age of fifty-six. She enjoyed many warm winters in Florida where she made many friends and great memories.
We would like to thank all the staff at the Foyer Richelieu for their care and compassion through the years as well as Dr. Kundi who helped keep Mom healthy until the end. Mom told us many times…. “ I like it here and I’m fine” when referring to the Foyer Richelieu.
The family will receive family and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main Street, Welland on Monday, November 6 , 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 1pm at Eglise Sacré Coeur, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Fonds Foyer Richelieu would be appreciated by the family.
