Norma Heximer (nee DiMarco) passed away peacefully on November 30th , 2023, at the Welland General Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family. Her departure marks the end of a life brimming with love, faith, and meaningful experiences.
Norma was the beloved wife of the late Harvey Heximer, and the devoted mother to Carl Heximer, Susan van Wylick (Leo), and Shelley Doucet (Rick). Her unwavering commitment to her faith was evident through her active involvement as a member of St. Joseph's parish, where she found solace and purpose.
Norma's giving spirit touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on her grandchildren: Jessica (Cary), Greg, Julia (Ethan), and Erika. She cherished her role as GG to her great-granddaughter, Thora Rose. Norma will be dearly missed by her brother Dave (Nan) and Ralph Manella (Denise). She was preceded in death by her parents Nicholas DiMarco, Ralph & Assunta Manella, granddaughter Christin, and siblings Tony, Sam, Fred, Vince, Joe, Pat, and Olga.
Throughout her life, Norma found joy in diverse experiences, from the tranquility of the cottage on Wahwashkesh Lake to the adventures she shared with church groups, friends, and family across Alaska, Europe, New Smyrna, Florida, California & Arizona, and various corners of Canada.
Her passions extended to gardening and sharing her culinary talents. Norma's famous pasta, meatballs, and pizzelles brought joy to the hearts and homes of her family and friends. Actively participating in the St. Joseph Catholic Church Snyder and CWL, she served as a past president, leaving a lasting legacy of service and devotion.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations to the Hope Centre, a reflection of Norma's commitment to giving back to the community that she held dear.
