Obituary of Aline Rachel Marie Caza
Aline Caza (née Lehoux)
It is with sadness that we announce the death of Aline Caza (née Lehoux) on December 26, 2023 at the age of 88. Born at home on a farm in Coppell, Ontario, she spent her early years moving throughout Northern Ontario with her family, which included 4 siblings. They operated restaurants in small communities including Wawa, Larder Lake and eventually Earlton where she met her husband, Roger. They married in 1957 and would go on to have two children. Sadly, her daughter Nicole died in early infancy in 1960. However, she found happiness again with the birth of her son, Grégoire, in Welland, where the family had settled. Welland became her lifelong home, and there she quietly crafted a life of serving and caring for others. Aline's culinary talents were a source of joy for her family. Her love could be seen in the wonderful holiday feasts and special occasions where her meals left everyone in a happy mood. Her caring for others extended to her mother, Yvonne, who lived with the family during the last fifteen years of her life. For over a decade, Aline worked as the cook and housekeeper for Paroisse Sacré-Cœur, where her devotion to others found expression through her many culinary creations. People were at the centre of Aline's world, and she was fortunate to have relatives, friends and neighbours who visited regularly and provided support during her later years. If Aline could have changed one aspect of her life, it would have been to spend more time with her two grandchildren, who, unfortunately, grew up (too far away!) in British Columbia. So, if you had the good fortune of experiencing Aline’s love and hospitality, take a few moments to remember her kindness and the happiness she brought into your life.
The family has entrusted the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION & RECEPTION CENTRE 827 East Main St. Cremation has taken place, and a funeral mass will occur later in the year. As an expression of sympathy, donations to a charity of your choice will be appreciated by the family.
