I will remember Phil dearly for his friendship and our shared passion of skating. I first met Phil in the mid 1990's when he partnered me for a couple of dance tests. It wasn't until several year later when we were skating at the Merritton Club that I got to know him better and enjoyed hearing his stories about his coaching days. More recently it was a pleasure to skate with Phil at the Pelham Arena. I am grateful for his encouragement and inspiration to keep skating. I'm sorry that I am unable to attend the funeral service for Phil. My heartfelt sympathy to his family. Joan Perry

I am sooo saddened to learn about Mr.Racine's passing. I always called him "Mr.Racine" as he was my coach in so many ways. While he was the figure skating coach that guided me for the later part of my competitive years, it was his grit and determination that made me a better skater ... and person. I know I made him angry at times (likely frustration at my inability to listen and follow direction!) but there was no one happier each time I landed a new jump for the first time. He will certainly be missed!!!!! My most sincere condolences to Mr.Racine's entire family.

It was always so nice to skate around the arena chatting with Phil about our experiences when we toured as Professional Figure Skating Performers with the Ice Capades -the memories, the travel days & the people we met. We coached for many years together in Welland & on the adult session at Merritton & attended the Christmas On Ice Show at the Avalon Theatre... Phil will be missed in the skating community.. my condolences to his family.

My Condolences to Doris and Linda and their families. Your mom and dad were good neighbors of mine for a very long time. Your mom always had a smile and a wave and your dad cooked good fish! Fridays just weren't the same after he moved. I have lost both my dad and mom now as well so I have learned that the good memories last forever.
Hugs to all of you at this time.

I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the Racine family. I had the pleasure of knowing "Uncle" Phil for the past 30 years and found his love for family and ice skating were immeasurable. He had a great sense of humor and liked to have a good laugh. He will be missed by all who knew him.

As not only a Board Member and a 4 time President for the Welland skating club I was also a skater and had Phil as a coach at one time and benefited from and appreciated his many years of expertise along with enjoying many conversations with him after a skating session. I retired in 2000 but then in 2020 I returned to the ice at the Fonthill arena and met up with Phil who was still enjoying some skating! As I worked to regain many of my skating skills Phil was very encouraging and we also enjoyed sharing many skating memories from years past. Even in later 2023 he was still skating and I will now miss those talks when I am on the ice.
My sincere thoughts and prayers are with the Racine family as you go through this very difficult time.

I am so very sorry to hear this. Mr. Racine was the reason for many of my best years of figure skating at the Welland Club. He was a joy to be around, he was a talented skater and coach. I think of him often. Wendy Evans
