Obituary of Philippe Roland Racine
It is with heavy hearts we announce the death of Philippe Roland Racine on Sunday, March 3,2024, at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Suzanne (née Bolduc). Cherished father of Doris Racine and Linda (Richard) Basta. Dear brother of Roger (late Cathy), George (Susan) and Pauline (Steve). Survived by his grandchildren Carrie (Chris), Kristie (Brennan) and Matt, his 3 great-grandchildren Cayden, Mason and Charlotte, as well as many nieces and nephews. Philippe is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Delina Racine, siblings; Jacqueline Couture, Rita Gagnon and Leo Racine.
Philippe had a passion for ice skating, dedicating 42 years of his life as a professional ice-skating instructor. He found joy in teaching others the art of skating and sharing his love for the sport. Additionally, Philippe enjoyed spending time fishing, finding solace in the tranquility of the water.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 827 East Main Street, Welland, on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. A funeral mass will be held at The Parish Community of St. Kevin 303 Niagara Street, Welland, at 12:00 p.m. Followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
