Obituary of Victoire Lukacsy
LUKACSY, Victoire Marie - God and her husband Stephen welcomed her into Heaven, Wednesday, October 25th 2017. Victoire was the beloved wife of the late Stephen Peter Lukacsy and devoted mother of Michel (Jay Vanderloos) and Lynn MacLeod (late Marvin) of Welland. She was the loving sister of Pauline (Edward Pusiak) and sister-in-law of the late Margaret and Zoltan Bendes, Bert (late Marjorie nee Holcomb) and Elizabeth O’Neill (late Jerry). Victoire will always be loved and remembered by many cousins, nieces and nephews. She has now eternally joined her late father and mother, Romeo and Bernadette (nee Marois) Lemelin, as well as her late father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anthony and Elizabeth (nee Drotar) Lukacsy. Victoire was a dedicated educator of the Niagara South Board of Education and will be fondly remembered by many former colleagues and students. Prior to becoming a teacher, she attended Coronation School and Notre Dame Secondary School in Welland, Couvent Notre-Dame de Lourdes in Sturgeon Falls as well as Couvent Notre-Dame de Lourdes and École normale de l’Université d’Ottawa in Ottawa. While teaching and raising a family, Victoire pursued Bachelor of Arts studies at Brock University. She was an elegant, impeccably dressed, witty and gregarious lady who saw beauty in all. Victoire greatly enjoyed her home, the company of family, friends and her beautiful cats as well as listening to music and watching classic movies and television programs. Faithfully conscious of sun protection, she was fond of wide-brimmed hats and wide-framed colourful sunglasses which graced her eternally youthful appearance. Following her retirement, Victoire enjoyed attending numerous ballet performances of the National Ballet of Canada in Toronto. As Stephen, she would be upset to see any animal suffer or be treated without gentleness or kindness. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Welland and District Humane Society, in memory of Victoire, would be deeply appreciated. The family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude and heartfelt thanks to Dr. Bryan Rittenhouse, Dr. C.J. Pauls and his staff, the nursing staff of the Surgical (4th) Floor of the Welland County General Hospital as well as to Nurse Practitioner Cami D’Uva and nursing staff of the Woolcott Wing whose exceptional care and compassion will always be remembered. May God Bless all of them always. Arrangements have been made with WELLAND FUNERAL HOME and cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 2nd 2017, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a memorial mass at Église du Sacré-Coeur, 72 Empire Street, Welland, at 1 p.m.Charitable donations may be made to:
